Number of LTE subscribers exceeded 1.068 billion in 2015

In the 4th quarter of 2015 the number of LTE subscribers exceeded 1.068 billion as reported by the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA).

Today LTE networks develop a lot faster in comparison with other telecom networks. In the 4th quarter of 2015 156 million new subscribers were connected to LTE networks. By 2020 the number of LTE and LTE-A subscribers is expected to exceed the total number of 3G / WCDMA-HSPA subscribers.

China is the biggest LTE market with 386 million subscribers (up 84 million growth in the 4th quarter), the second largest is the North American market with almost 237 million subscribers (world market share dropped to 22.2%). The European market occupies thew third position with 14.8% of the total number of subscribers.
