EaPeReg EWGs to meet in Tbilisi, Georgia

Kick-off Meetings of the EaPeReg Spectrum Expert Working Group (SEWG) and the Benchmarking Expert Working Group (BEWG) will take place on 2-3 February, in Tbilisi, Georgia

The Expert Working Groups were officially established during the 6th plenary Assembly of EaPeReg held on 5 November, 2015 in Chisinau, Moldova according to the decision of the EaPeReg Network participant during the 6th Plenary Session. Expected main benefits of the activities of the groups will be: harmonization of spectrum management and elaboration of common approach to spectrum usage, as well as elaboration of annual reports on market trends and regulatory developments of the EaPeReg countries, thus supporting narrowing the GAPs between EaPs and the EU.

Main goal of the SEWG is to consider and facilitate viable approaches for the UHF band, in particular for the sub-bands 470 694 MHz, 694 790 MHz and 790-862 MHz and to exchange views and experiences.

Main goal of the BEWG is to exchange the best practices and experience among the members, to compare and improve the EaPeReg Members’ national regulations in the alignment of statistical indicators and regulatory framework used by the European Union.

The main goal of the kick-off meeting is to agree and approve groups working process and methodology, as well as the basic inputs of their members.
